Rural Pub of the Year, as voted by people who'd know.

The Countryside Alliance Awards are the "rural Oscars" — nineteen years of recognising the pubs, shops and producers that rural communities actually rely on, judged by the public and a panel of rural experts. In 2026 the Blackadder was named Scotland's Champion Pub.

It means the same fires, the same kitchen and the same team you've always known — just with a trophy on the bar and a few more people finding their way to Greenlaw.

Noted in the Scottish Parliament. In May 2026 MSPs lodged a motion at Holyrood congratulating the Blackadder Bar & Restaurant on being named Champion Pub — a rare honour for a local village.
